How can i teach myself to dance

i want to dance like hip hop...like...step up 2 style...any tips

  3. go to youtube an see what they do in step up 2, take a dance class, or just do what most people do, free dance! Just maybe put up your music , and feel the beat and move in whatever way you feel like you want to, it can come out good, you don't really need to learn how to dance, as long as your doing something other than standing still, you kind of are dancing! =D

  5. i'm sure you can find some instructional dvd's. but training yourself isn't the best idea. you need a professional watching and correcting you. you should sign up for some classes if you really want to learn.  

  6. If you want to teach yourself, try watching videos online of your favorite songs/music videos. From there, you can pick up some moves and make them your own.

    Make sure to stretch before you dance.Do the butterfly, one leg in front of the other then bend down, etc.

  8. watch the films several times and copy what they do, that will give you a hint of the style, and then gradually build up your own style.

    The most important part of dance is to be individual, and to go with it. if you feel that all of a sudden you need to spin, then just do it. Best of luc kx x  

  9. Don't. Take  a dance class. You can't really learn proper dancing by yourself.  

  10. Try putting on some music you can dance to and see what you can do. If that didn't turn out too well you can get some DVD's guiding you through every step in order for you to improve. And if that didn't work then start taking classes, they aren't expensive but that depends on where you live. Trust me, classes are most helpful.

    You could also find dance videos on YouTube.

    I recommend auditions and routines from So You Think You Can Dance.

    It depends on what you want to achieve.

    Technique? Flexibility? Exercise?

    So if you don't want a dance lesson, the best advice I can give you is to watch dance videos, whether they are on YouTube, MTV, or on a DVD.

    If you want to be flexible (if you want to be able to do the splits), follow these tips:

    * Stretch out your calves and hamstrings after a nice hot bath or shower. You are most flexible after exercise and when your legs are warm and damp.

    * Stay in each stretch for at least 20 seconds or more.

    * Avoid bouncing and rocking into position or having someone painfully force the stretch. You could tear or damage tendons, ligaments and muscles.

    * Don't eat while stretching

    * Lunges help.

    * Stretch using rubber bands, or warm water to warm muscles

    * Don't over-stretch yourself, or go beyond your limits.

    * Don't hurt yourself, or endure too much pain just to get the splits down.

    * Gently massage the upper leg muscles while stretching, for some people this seems to ease the pain.

    * Once your body is used to splitting, it will become easier and easier to do it.

    * Always be committed to doing the splits because once you stop for awhile your muscles won't be as flexible as it used to.

    * Practise makes perfect.

    It always helps if you can do the splits because they appear in many dance routines.

    To be honest, the best way to learn dance is to get a dance lesson, but if you can't don't worry, be happy! Some professionals first started by teaching themselves.

  13. by watching the videos and movies.also practice with friends helps a lot but keep in mind how dangerous its going to be! many people break legs hands..knee even with teachers and training.i dont wanna scare you but thats the reality.like if you're not fit enough and you're not ready you could break your neck while trying to spin on your head!!
