One of the best systems around is MOODLE, can be used with students in small groups or large groups such as university. Of course depends what do you want to teach online, if you want to teach someone to play the guitar, for example, I would just BLOG it, and make videos of my lessons, but if want to organize an environemnt that your students interact, like downloading assignments, participating in discussions, surveys etc, then a MOODLE is a must.  Also have a look at del.ici.ous, which is a social bookmarking site, where everyone is bookmarking their favourite things on the net, have a look at teachers and ICT approaches. So, hope this assists you in getting on with teaching. Bear in mind, there is more to it, but the web got lots of help if you need. All the best.

Look for online webct's and see if their hiring. On my homepage it says when their hiring, but I'm up north in Canada so that does you no good.
