i got my goldfish at the fair and he wasnt that big but he wasnt tiny like those little feeder goldfish at petco. ive heard that he should atleast be like 3 months old because at first theyre gray and it takes them time to get their color.ive had him for like a month and a week from the time i got him from the fair. how can i tell how old he is.is there any techniques or ways to tell? he has his full color of a orange red and from head to tail is about 2 and a half inches

  1. if you see it sleep

  2. i dont think there is an exact science to ageing fish as they all grow at different speeds depending on feed enviroment etc.i had baby goldfish in a pond and they were grey for about 2 years before they started to colour

  3. growth will not tell unless you have atleast a 20 gallon tank as it will not be growing at a proper rate, how long is it's tail? a long tail indicates an older fish, if it's very short (and a comet) it will probebly be young.

most fish at fairs are about a year so i think a year 1 month and 1 week approximately =]
