  1. She's probably just fat. Hamsters sometimes are.

And if you got her from a pet shop, she's probably 10-15 weeks.

  2. ask her!

  3. ahh its so sad, how would u like it if someone came out of no where and made you stay in a tiny cage kept you awake when you wanted to sleep, overfed you so that you were obese  didn't take care of you like they should, and forced you to listen to their off key singing i dont think u would like to much, well animals dont like it ether

and dont u feel bad as u watch it slowly die because of your incompetence die u mean mean mean person.

  4. Do you know what type of hamster Penelopey and Asher is? Different types of hamsters are different sizes, i.e. dwarf hamsters are smaller and seemingly "skinnier" than teddy bear hamsters.

If they are the same breed, then it's either your new hamster is fat and your old one is skinny, or your new hamster is healthy and your old one is malnourished.

  5. LOL at a fat hampster ahahahahahhahahaaa

  6. There really is no way to determine how old a hamster is. The fact that one hamster is fatter than the other doesn't mean that one is older than the other, but there are some things that this could mean...

If you just got her today, (especially if you got her from a pet store) and you have sexed her and made sure she is a girl, I would say that there is a good chance she is pregnant. Hamsters can reach sexual maturity as early as 4 weeks old. And, unfortunately, some irresponsible pet stores do not separate their male and female hamsters. Call the store you got her from and let them know that you are concerned that she may be pregnant and ask them that if she is (which you will know for sure in less than 10 days because if she is already fat, she will have had them by then) what their policy is about it? Ask if they will find homes for the babies? Or if they will give you discounts on more cages/food, etc. Keep a close eye on her over the next few days. Notice her behavior. Is she building a nest? Is she hoarding lots of food? (if so, is it under the nest?) If she is, then these are signs that you hammy is expecting.

If she has not given birth in about 10 days, then she is probably just less active than your sisters hamster, or she eats fattier foods (one of my hamsters picks out all of the sunflowers from his food, which is basically the fattiest food he could eat!)

Finally, hamsters are not all exactly the same build as eachother, even if they are the same breed. As long as she seems healthy other than the few extra ounces, she is probably perfectly fine.
