  1. Very frequently, tapeworms will not produce any symptoms. The most common findings are the presence of eggs in the stool, or worm segment in clothing, bedding or in the stool. Weight loss, despite a good appetite can occur. Pain in the upper abdomen may develop. Diarrhea is not uncommon. Symptoms of anemia may develop, including weakness, pallor, shortness of breath and exercise intolerance

  2. Tapeworms are acquired by ingesting fleas, so if your dog has had even a few fleas, chances are it has at least a small infestation of tapeworms. Tapeworms shed segments in the dogs f***s that resemble bits of  whitish rice or sesame seeds. If you see these on your dogs f***s, you know it has a tape worm. If you are concerned ask your vet to run a fecal exam looking for tapeworm eggs and segments. Tapeworms are easily treated with a drug called praziquantel.

  3. Take them to the vet and have the dog tested .

  4. the only sighn i know of is if your dog is sliding it's but around on the floor if so contact a vet

  5. have you taken your dog to the vet? it sometimes drags its but on the floor.hurry and take it to the vet worms are nothing to put off.i have two shelties brother and sister there now 5 years old and they get along good and are great dogs i love my shelties.

  6. Take a stool sample to the vet and have it tested for worms.  You can sometimes see them in the fecal matter also.

  7. All puppies and kittens need to go to the vet for a check up and general worming.  Discuss your concerns with the vet.  Tape worms do NOT show up in the normal fecal exam.  They are one of the few parasites that you will see.  They look like grains of rice.  The parasites that can kill your puppy are not visible to you.

  8. Adult tapeworms release little segments into the dog's stool , you will see little white segments that look like rice either in his stool, or sticking to his rear.  You can also take a sample of the dog's stool to the vet to be tested.   The fecal test looks for worm eggs in stool, but tapeworms shed off their eggs in little packets.  If the packet does not break open, then the test will not show if there are tapeworms.  Take a sample anyway.   Your vet can give you a safe dewormer.  Good luck.
