  1. Do not release freon into the atmosphere.  For the unit to be so overfull that it would affect cooling, you would have to release a lot.  Also, if that did not solve the problem you would have to reinstall more to replace what was let out.  Excessive condensation back to the compressor could be a tale-tale sign of an overcharge but not totally accurate.  The proper way to correctly charge an ac is to measure the amount of freon needed and then install however, experienced technicians can use gauges and by measuring superheat .

  2. you have to be able to read an airconditioning  chart which   dont. But for you there is another way.

put a thermostain the air flow and runn the AC. Now slowly release some freon. if the temp goes up  U have overfilled it,,

  3. HVAC Tech.: If you lack proper EPA certification and you tamper with the refrigerant in the unit ,you can be fined up to  $25,000 and FIVE YEARS in JAIL. Call a technician who will have the training and tools to solve the problem without destroying the unit or the ozone layer. be smart, save money and stay out of jail.

  4. Don't release refrigerant to the atmosphere. That's what is causing the greenhouse affect. And its against the law. The best way to tell if the a/c is overcharged is the suction and discharge pressures. You can take an amp  draw reading of the compressor. If the compressor is drawing more amps than its rated for it could be overcharged.

  5. If you mess with your a/c, you'll either ruin it or the pressure release may ruin YOU.  You've got to call an a/c company...yellow pages.
