How can i tell if my RAM is compatible with my motherboard ? (SPEED WISE)?

i want to know how to tell when a RAM will be compatible with tha speed of a board

because i heard that you cannot put a RAM with greater speed into a motherboard wwith less speed

can someone please help me there

  1. well you gotta find out what model it is, DDR, DDR2, etc. Download CPU-Z and it should tell you, i cant explain much because im in a hurry so yeah, it tells you everything about your computer hardware.


  2. You can put higher speeds only if its ddr2 memory.  Look up your board online (google) for specs.
