  1. You may have either not used enough flour or overmixed the batter.

The batter should be thick, so that you have to scoop it out onto the baking sheet.

Just mix the ingredients until combined. Do it by hand and not with a mixer, either. The mixer could cause overmixing of the batter, leading to the soupy quality

  2. I'm going to go ahead and guess you used tub margarine instead of stick.

    Big mistake.

I did that once, and it sounds just like what happened to you.

  3. judt make it feel like play dough...

  4. its not suppose to be like  cake batter  it  needs to be  just moist  and  able  to  spoon it into balls on the cookie  sheet

  5. If you even have to ask . . .

Cookie DOUGH should have the consistancy of play-dough.

  6. The batter should be stiff, never liquidy.  It should mound in a spoon.

  7. They are definitely too liquidy, you need to add some more flour and make them so you can just spoon them on the cookie sheet or use a small ice cream scoop, but be sure you have added the correct amount of baking powder and soda so that they will puff up.

  8. Did you use tub margerine or a stick of butter?

butter is what ur supposed to use.

  9. stick a toothpick in it if if comes out clean than your cookies are ready

  10. I personally just use the kind from the stores, but if you use the homemade kind, that's fne! Usually its a very delicate, but it should be almost like a biscuit fix, but a little bit liquid-isher!

  11. I think it should be a dough and not batterlike. It shouldnt be runny at all. It should be like when making meatballs . If they are burning try turning down the oven temperature by like 5 degrees or more if it needs it.

  12. cookie dough is not supposed to be liquidy its supposed be doughy that can broke off in little balls (like play dough)

  13. you can feel the gooshyness.

  14. You should be able to tell if it's too "liquidy" if you try to pour the batter onto the sheet and everything just pours out like a smoothie or yogurt. The best way to test if the batter is perfect is if you flip the bowl or anything you put the batter in and nothing pours out but just is stuck onto the bowl. That way, just scoop about a spoonful and place it onto the sheet.
