How can i tell if my laptop is a DVD+R or not?

Question

If it does not have this feature (which i don't think it has) what do i need to get to be able to copy files on to a dvd format/CD i do not want to get rid of my laptop

if you stick a blank dvd+r and it knows what it is in your burning software your good to go.

generally you can tell when you go to my computer the name of the drive should tell you like mine says DVD-RW Drive(E:)

almost all DVD+R drives i've run into can do DVD-R. might as well get -R

Check the DVD drive to see what kind is it, or right click My computer > device manger> cd/dvd then you will know the answer to your question.

If it is not a DVD drive, go buy to the nearest computer shop and have it installed.
