How can i tell the age in a Bearded dragon? People at the Pet store didnt know.?

My Beardie is small enough to stand on my thumb and is about 6 inches long including tail

  1. a few months probably. i would even say 1 month because its so small. but im no expert..i just used to have them.


  2. If its 6 inches i would say its under 6 months old, the age doesn't really matter, looking after it is the most important!!! Hope you have fun with him/her, they're the best pets!!

  3. Sounds very young, but honestly, I wouldn't buy from a shop that didn't know the age of it's stock. As with all reptiles there is no sure way of telling a bearded dragon's age... yes, there's average sizes at various ages for well-kept, healthy specimens, but malnourished individuals will grow much slower.

  5. You can really only guess at their age if you weren't there when they were born. Check out the bearded dragon care vids in the source link, they might be helpful.
