How can i tell the age of a vw beatle without the manual bookwhere do i look on the car?

want to change oil in my vw beat dont know the age,i have to know the age to buy the right filter kit . eg casket etc

  2. Find the VIN #. Go to: http://www.lightner.net/ybdb/serno.html and see when your VW beetle was built.

  3. the approximate age is on the rear lenses of the brake tail lights...or just ask an auto parts person!!!

  4. on the drivers side, where the door closes. theres a plate that has info on the car. including vin number and capacity of weight.
