  1. G.T. 's answer is correct

  2. Boat hull numbers are not recorded the same as Vehicle ID Numbers (VIN) for motor vehicles.  The easiest way to find information on your boat is to contact the manufacturer and talk to their records department.

  3. The number that you provided us is a manufacturer-based serial number that is only relevant to the manufacturer. That serial number doesn't provide you with the year of the boat. You can either contact the manufacturer (if they are still in business) or check your registration and/or title. Remember, most boats before the year 1972 did not have Hull Identification Numbers on the hull itself. Rather, they were provided on the invoice, bill of sale, or factory build sheet from the factory when the boat was sold new. Give the manufacturer a shot if they're still around, or check your papers. Good Luck!

  4. On the transom should be a manufacturers plate. It should give that information along with the rated load and other safety info. If it is not there your boat was probably built before 1970. If you live in a state that titles boats it should be on the title.

  5. Look at the VIN.  The vehicle Identification number stamped on the back of the hull some where.  long number and the last 2 digits are the year.

  6. Look at the title or Reg > Also on the Starboard corner of the exterior corner stamped into the hull>

  7. I don't know if boats are like trucks but a vehicle's identification number (VIN) has one digit that stands for the year it was manufactured. In the trucking industry, the 8th digit from the right is the year. (Letters stand for certain years in the 1990's, then numbers are the years since 2000. ie a 2 would mean it was a 2002) Not sure about boats.
