  1. First start with endurance and strength. To last the entire 400 meters, you're going to need it. Then once you have achieved that, start working on speed and doing repeat 100's and 200's with very little recovery in between. Eventually you should begin to do 400 repeats with little recovery and that should get you ready for the 400. Hope this helped!
