  1. That's not what cats do. You are confusing her with a dog. DNA is totally different and I'm sure that she carries that "Independence gene" that will not allow you to train her. In other words, let your cat be a cat:)

  2. I don't know, cat's are so independent, that I think it would be impossible to make him sit!

  3. First of all cats don't sit when they use the litter box. And all cats are trainable if treated with kindness and respect. But cats are not dogs and chances are slim to none that when you say sit, she will.  Cats are very smart and very stubborn, and will learn many tricks, but it is done on their time. If you don't have the patience, and insist the cat act like a dog. Get rid of the cat. Find someone who has the patience.

  4. hehe, i taught my cat tricks.. take a look! He sits and shakes and in the very end, he finally does a "bang bang" trick..

Anyways, i hear that if your cat is doing something it shouldn't be, you can spray water at it, since cats hate water. (my cat ended up chewing the water sprayer!) OR what i do is give him a gentle spanking on his butt... and to sound angry. Not a cutsey voice, but a stern voice so he knows its not a good thing.

The sitting took a lot of time, i had to train him with pieces of meat like cold cuts and Tofurky hehe.

    Good luck!

  5. When you tell a cat to sit and .. well take a poo I really doubt she/he will do it you have to have patience. And if you dont want her litter trained let her/him outside while its out it'll probably teach itself to poo outside, (possibilities are in someone elses yard...)

  6. Cats a very independent and hard to train, but it can be done. There is a group on yahoo that specializes in something called clicker training. Go to Yahoo Groups and look up Cat-Clicker. I was in the group for a while and people seem to have great luck.

My cats were not so bright or just stubborn!

    Good luck
