  1. I recommend ipodRip.  Is the best.

I really like this program because later on, after you have transfered all your songs and lets say you add some new songs on your ipod from a friends computer or something, it will scan your itunes library and your ipod and let you know what is not in your itunes library yet.

Its totally safe and free to use.  It will ask you to purchase it every 50 songs but you never have to.  Just exit the prompt.

    Its very fast.

I have been using it for years.

Make sure that ipod is in manual mode.  Dont sync it or else everything will get erased before you have a chance to do this.

  3. There are a couple programs that will let you transfer files from an iPod to a computer. The first is a program called iDump which is mainly for transferring files from iPod to computer and can be very useful if your computer deletes your music. The other is a program called iSyncTunes which will allow you to manage music between multiple libraries and your iPod. Both programs are free and both are Vista compatible.

  4. idump it's a free software it's the best free one i know of just search google

  5. this method only works on windows xp and on some vistas.

    #1 Plug in your iPod.

    # 2 From the Desktop, go to My Computer and find the iPod (usually designated by a drive letter. i e. E: or F:)

    # 3 Open the folder.

    # 4 Go to Tools > Folder Options > View (the tab) > scroll to Show Hidden Files and Folders and click it.

    # 5 Click OK

    # 6 Go back to your iPod folder/drive, there you will find a new folder called iPod_Control

    # 7 Open it.

    # 8 The Music folder in it will have a bunch of folders named F00, F01 and so on. THEY HAVE YOUR MP3s. Look through the folders to find your stuff.

#9 drag back into itunes or left click, open with itunes.whichever.dragging it may not always work so copy the file and paste it.or import it.

    or the automatic way:http://www.imtoo.com/ipod-computer-trans...

or if you have a mac:http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ip...

  6. you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  7. itune blocks this function since itune is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

  8. itunes wont do it for you. which sucks. you need to download special software. google 'ipod rip' and see what pops up.
