  1. Three ways:

    1-Airway

    2-Railway

    3-Highway

The best way is of course flying since it takes only 45 mins, but it's the most expensive way. Prices go from 80 to 150.

Train is cheaper, about 70-80 liras i believe. The fastest one will take about 6,5 hours.

The other way is bus.You can find every hour (even every half hour),will be about 40-50 liras i think and will take about 6,5 hours.

SO the cheapest way is the highway but the best way is flying.Your choice.

Add: Information for some ignorant people:

Ankara is the capital city of Turkey. So as can be guessed there are many government and business companies, also some very top class universities of Turkey means a lot of people have h**l of a business there.

As a touristic place Ankara offers a lot with its rich history of about 3000 years.

  2. I thought that the cheapest way to travel from istanbul to Ankara was by train.

It costs 18ytl. The fast trains take 6.5 hours but others are slower.

If you spend more you can travel overnight in a very comfortable air-conditioned sleeper for 45ytl (but you are saving on the cost of a night in a hotel or pansiyon so this is still good value).

Alternatively you can travel by bus. It takes 4.25 hours and costs 30 ytl.

Much to my surprise, I find that you can, in fact, fly there for only 14 ytl with Pegasus airlines. The details are here:

So it looks as if flying is the cheapest and fastest way to travel between Istanbul and Ankara!!!

  3. Lay in bed, close your eyes and dream your journey. Cheapest and quickest way - I believe.

Where the h**l is Ankara and why would you (anyone) want to go there...?

  4. Many people take buses between the two cities.  They are nice and there are several companies. I think it takes 5-6 hours and its about $30-40 (USD).  Both bus stations are nice.  The buses have luggage service, provide several drinks, ice cream, snacks, etc.  For longer rides, such as this one, the bus stops for about 10 -15 minutes for people to use the restrooms and stretch their legs.  Some of the companies have TV as well.

Another way is Turkish Airlines.  This takes about 40 minutes with flight times.  If you are going 1 way and dont mind flying early in the morning, you can go as cheap as $50 (USD) one-way.

  5. I use to go with bus it was good enough for me i forgot though i think it was about 4 hours and not very expensive either plus you get coffee and tea
