BTW its not a chromatic tuner in only tunes to EADGBE but it has a feature to drop flats so I'm wondering if anyone who has the tuner or just knows how to tune to drop D using the tuner will help me?

  1. tune it to drop d your tuner should let u do that

  2. When you tune it down the tuner will recognize the sound as a D anyway, so no need to press any flat buttons. Simply loosen the E string until the tuner recognizes a D (it will tell you) then keep tuning till it's spot on.

  3. Actually it can be easily done without a tuner. Just pluck your D string, and then tune the E string down until the two string's notes sound identical, and then once you've done that, check your former E string on the tuner to see how close it is to the D note, and then just adjust it to be perfectly tuned to D, that way, you have DADGBE. It's pretty fun, although I don't use it often, but sometimes I like to tune DADGBD, Double Drop D. Have fun!
