How can i twist this track light on the track? it seems if i go any further to lock it...?

the metal prongs on the light will break

is it ok if i leave it half way through (not locked in place) ?

One side is higher than the other so make sure you are putting it on the right direction, it will click into place when it is locked. You will need to push on the tab to unlock it. If it feels like your going to break it your doing it wrong.

It will feel like it's going to break until it snaps into place.Take it off and try putting it in the other direction. It does take some pressure.

Look inside the track and you will see two conductors on one side and one on the other, now match up the two prongs on the light to twist to the meet the two inside the track and you now know that you are in the correct match.
