How can i upload photos from my new samsung U600 to my laptop?

i got the phone samsung U600 recently and i can't figure out how to upload photos to my laptop....

i did install the cd it came with although at first it said something about the wrong driver. it later installed properly but i'm still having problems because i cant send my photos to my laptop.

when i connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable i hav to choose between PC Studio 3 or media player or media studio. It never allows me to use the media studio mode but whenever i am on media player mode, the folder SGH-U600 is always empty although i reckon that's where the pictures could be. the PC Studio 3 just enables mi install updates but it never has anithing to do with uploading photos. At least that's what i think

I'm a total computer illiterate so could you all please help me because i realli need those pictures.

If your Samsung U600 has a slot for a micro sd card.  If you have the card, transfer photos and videos to this card and insert card into laptop.

I have Vista on my laptop and there are a lot of things I can't do and one of them is use my phones' USB connection.  I DO have Bluetooth on the phone and laptop.  Makes it s-o-o-o-o much easier to transfer texts, photos and videos.
