How can i use my art to help raise awareness to issues like the environment?

i need some advice. is this a dumb idea? i want to inspire people to take action against issues like the environment. im not a very good writer, so i was thinking maybe i could make pictures that portray my feelings towards the issues. i need to find ways to get these pictures seen.. what should i do, all i can think of is to send them to newspapers or put them on fliers. idk.. this is just an idea, i need help thinking of the next step. thanks so much

maybe you could start with the newspapers and do it in satire people always respond well to that, and it gets people thinking and talking.

If you really want to help raise awareness to issues like the environment, you should start online clubs. Like ask people who like to save the environment and ask them to join the club. They must have videos of cleaning the environment and give them two points, like yahoo answers! answer a question and two points!

Then if they asked other people to join then 10 points! pyramid!

People aren't going to respond to your art in the way you're thinking. The first thing they're going to do is say, "Oh wow, that's interesting. I like this painting and I respect the artist for caring about the environment." After that they'll forget about the painting in about two minutes and move on to something else. Just remember that art doesn't have the same affect on people that it used to. No offense, but art is not the most inspirational thing in the world.

EDIT: Well, that's the thing. It's really hard to help the environment considering you're one person. What you need to do is get active and engaged with the environment. Get a group of kids and/or adults and just start to do activities that help to clean and improve the streets and area you live in. For example, spending the day picking up trash or planting trees and shrubs. Once other people start to see you and this group of people who are actually doing something for what they believe in, they'll help out. Who knows, maybe you'll get in the newspaper and get more widely recognized.

Of course you could paint if it's what you love to do. I never meant that you shouldn't paint, but I think getting a group to help the environment will have a greater impact both on the environment and the people who realize what you're doing.
