How can i use wood chips on a propane grill?

my grill has only one rack for grilling how can use wood chips with it?

  1. Make sure you soak the wood chips thoroughly.

    Put them in a throw away aluminum pan down in the fire, it will be fine.


  2. I use smoking pellets instead... or wood chips that don't need to be soaked.  Make a packet of double-layer aluminum foil and tightly seal about 1/3-1/2 c. inside.  Poke a hole on top and set on the  grill with the food......(wood chips that need to be soaked are for charcoal grills)

  3. Soak your chips as long as possible, drain and wrap with 2 layers of aluminum foil, poke some pencil holes on the sides.

    Lift your grate and put the packet where the flame will come close but not direct. Light grill and enjoy. This method prevents the chips from catching fire (bitter smoke) and makes it easy to clean up- just pull it out the next time you go to grill and toss it.
