  1. If you are using Windows XP or Vista then use Remote Desktop. Right click on My Computer (on the computer you have to remotely access) and take properties. Click on Remote Tab and Check on allow users to connect remotely to this computer. Click on select remote users and add yourself to that.

Now from your computer go to Programs -> accessories -> communication -> Remote Desktop Connection. Give IP address or the computer name of the remote computer and you will get the login screen.

Another option is to install the UltaVNC server in all the remote computers:

    http://www.uvnc.com/

Now install uvnc client in your machine and you can connect to the remote machine.

  2. If you have Windows XP and/or Vista, you can set up Remote Desktop to do this. Myself, I use RealVNC to do this. http://www.realvnc.com/ Download it and set up RealVNC server on the machine you want to control and set it to start itself up on boot. On your machine, set up RealVNC as a client.

You may need to open ports on the firewall on both machines to get the traffic to pass.

  3. There are many programs you can use to accomplish this.  Here are 3 of the most poplular ways:

    1) Windows Remote desktop

    2) Symantec PC Anywhere

    3) Real VNC

Hopefully you are already connected to your stores via a network.  Otherwise, you are going to need high speed internet both at your location and at each store if you want to be able to do this efficiently.  PC Anywhere can be configured to use a modem over regular telephone lines but it is painfully slow.

If your store computers are running XP Professional then I recommend using remote desktop.  You will need to configure your routers at the stores to forward port 3389 to the proper computer's IP address in order to allow the remote desktop connection to work.   Also, you have to have a password set on the store computers.  Remote Desktop is disabled by default unless you have the computer password protected.  You will also have to configure any firewall software running on the remote computers to allow whichever program you decide to use.

In my experience remote desktop is the easiest & best performing method over high speed network connections.  It shouldn't be too hard to get to work as long as you have a basic understanding of IP addressing & router configuration.

  4. Remote Desktop, this is usually reserved for support staff. Some administrators disable this for security reasons.

If it is enabled and you can't use it, see if you can have your account made a member of the Remote Access users Group.

    Cheers

  5. i use LogMeIn from logmein.com. Download logmein on all computers that you wish to control from your office. make one account. when you log into the account from your office, you will be able to see all the computers online. now click on a computer and connect (you will need to enter the passphrase, which you will make for every computer while downloading logmein on them). then you will be able to select remote control. this will allow you to control the computer as if you were sitting in front of it. the LogMeIn free allows you to control the computer and chat, the other nonfree version allow other things like letting you print directly from that computer, let you use remote sound (you can here what is happening on there computer's speakers on your speakers), etc. i recommend free version because the others are a waste of money.

another option for xp pro users is that u can use the built in remote control software. this is very difficult to use though and i dont recommend it.

hope this helped. email for qs. peace

  6. Ask your system admin if you have any remote control utilities available for client use.  Here at my job we use Tivoli.  Some other places use PCAnywhere, or you might get away with gotomypc.com.  Check with your firewall team or system admin before any of these though.

  7. many people can give u many programs but u actually dont need them becoz  u just go run and type mstsc  then type the ip address of that pc and u need to have username and password of that pc BUT first of all both pc must be enabled remote access for this u go to run type sysdm.cpl then look for remote tab then check the second option there and ur done but this shold be done once in both the pcs

    Goodbye
