I took an old bulletin board (3'x4') and created a Memory Board for a charity event. Its somewhat scrapbooked. It has photos, scrapbook paper, cardboard on it.

Rain is now expected at this event. :( Is there a way to coat it with something to keep it from getting ruined? Something that will coat it but not damage it.

  1. I wonder if you can get that film that you put on windows in the winter to keep drafts out.  You adhere it with the special tape and then use a hair-dryer to shrink it slightly  so it gets clear and tight.  It may not protect the back completely, but it might protect the front and allow it to still be seen.

I've never done it before, it just popped into my head.

  2. I am not sure clear coat would protect the pictures from rain. If you had a way to laminate all the paper pieces and photos on the board then clear coat over top of that would protect the wood.

Otherwise the only other thing I can thing of that would work is a thick epoxy. Home depot or Lowe's carries a package that has the 2 chemicals you have to mix together and then with the item layed flat  you pour the epoxy on starting in the middle and it pretty much levels itself out, but be aware this is not a quick fix it will need to dry approximately 24 hours.

  3. put clear coat on it~  So it can be outside~

It would be the same thing you could use on wood but clear~
