  1. My favorite workout is 200m-400m-600m-400m-200m twice with two minutes between each run

  2. im an 800m runner too  I work on running 200s at the pace i want to run my 800s.  Also run some 600s, then wait 30 seconds and run a 200 as hard as you can

  3. This probablly isn't the advice you are looking for, but if you are in 8th grade I would say don't sweat it and just have fun. If you run in high school you still have 4 1/2 years to get that time down before you graduate.

I've seen many great runners who burn themselves out at an early age and then never continue running later in life, and many who get hurt because they train so hard at a young age.

My 800 time was around 2:30 my freshman year and through my high school career I was able to bring it down to 2:12.

You still have so many great years ahead to bring that time down.Have fun along the journey and don't rush to get results! You are still young... have fun! Positive action always!

  4. im a 800 runner too and i suggest starting off with endurance. about 4 miles or so, then on one day in the week run 5 repeat 300's at around 60 seconds. that should get you started! just dont get yourself warn out too soon! high school track is the best! and with your times you will progress and can easily get down to a 2:15!

  5. Do some interval running; that is like sprint 100 meters then jog 100 meters for about 3 laps around the track to start with. It really helps with sprinting at the end of the race.
