How can it be that this has escaped the ACLU?

I thought the ACLU was concerned about the separation of church and state, of religion from politics.

Since this theology strongly influences Senator Obama, how do we reconcile this?

  1. He has a valid point there but it will go nowhere , the ACLU is to busy with non citizen rights to actually think about the Civil liberties of Americans

  2. for the same reason they didn't go after Bush for invoking the name of God to justify his warmongering that has claimed the lives of over 4,000 American sons and daughters, 100,000s of Iraqis and displaced more than 1,000,000  Iraqi citizens, it's not a direct threat on civil liberties like Bush's other violations..

  3. The ACLU isn't against people being influenced by theology, it is against laws being based on theology if it infringes on the civil rights of another citizen.

  4. Its not illegal to be religious.  hello?  Its the Right who want to dictate laws based on their professed religious beliefs: anti-choice, anti g*y marriage, pro creationism.

  5. I'm sorry, but that piece is so badly written I couldn't get past the first few paragraphs.  Effective writing shouldn't contain errors in sentence structure, grammar, and spelling.

Other people make Barack Obama's religion a real issue in this campaign, he rarely, if ever mentions it.

And I AM a McCain supporter.  A supporter who doesn't listen to or read such fallacious dribble.

  6. yeah, i mean gov. palin believes in teaching Creationism in schools.  That is definitely not separation of church and state.
