With the way things are in this country it's highly doubtful that the site will be finished, let alone be capable of holding any extravagant displays to try and outdo China in the opening ceremony

China has a bigger population than the continent of Europe (East and West) and the continent of North America combined. They can hire 10,000 performers much easier than London. This was a no holds barred coming out party where China is announcing to the world their re-stored position as one of the world's great powers.
