Be careful not to join anything that requires a startup fee or anything that claims you'll make huge profits - you won't, and it'll probably end up taking you're time/money and giving you nothing in return.

What skills do you have? Years of experience in high-level web and software design and programming? No? Then there is no way to make money online. Sorry. Even if you worked 8 hours a day on a legitimate site like Amazon Mechanical Turk, you MIGHT clear a dollar or two per day if you were lucky.

If working at home is important to you, many companies are now trying to let data entry processing/order processing employees (and similar) work from home. This generally doesn't pay as well as doing the same kind of work in an office (which doesn't pay well to begin with), and you have to work with the company in the offices for a while for training and to prove that you won't just quit after they've gone to the trouble to install a workstation in your home. At least this is true for the company I work for.
