I have watched their wimbledon match last year. I have noticed that federer pressures nadal and keeps him off balance when he attacks the net and do those various volleys which produces easy points for roger. I know for sure this will be the same tactic that federer will use in their match.

  1. Nadal first has to improve a faster serve that allows him to serve and volley.

  2. Nadal has been playing a more agressive style.  We saw this at this year's French Open.  He has an improved serve and is using his backhand more as a weapon, as well.  Nadal needs to continue this style of play on grass.  He has to make a commitment to play closer to the baseline (instead of 10 feet behind it).

  3. Actually I thought the Wimbledon final 2007 had an unusually slow grass court, and that Federer couldn't attack as much as he did in the past. Nadal made a lot of passing shots that forced Federer to stay back and rally from the baseline. Federer even stayed back after many good first serves! It was one of the reasons the match went five sets.

I'm feeling this was an exception however, and this year Roger can attack with his net game more.

  4. Well, Federer will have to have ridiculously precise net attacks if he's going to beat Nadal at the net bcoz Nadal have amazing precision at passing shots and he can now play inside the baseline. He's gotten more agressive as even Federer have mentioned. The angles he now creates in a tennis court are outa this world. That backhand of his has gotten even more dangerous.he can now flatten his shots which makes it even more dangerous on grass.

If this two meet at the final and Federer has improved his form, expect another explosive turbo charged final, only more explosive than last year's.

Betting have never been harder at Wimbledon.

U can't count off a 5 time champion, yet Rafa seems to be on an imposing form. What's with Djokovic breathing down their necks..gawd, its gonna be an interesting tourney..thts if there are no upsets.

  5. what gives nadal the advantage on clay , is that the court is not as fast as grass or hard courts , he reaches for the ball and hit it with a top spin with his forehand that most off does not depend on speed other than high spinning , thats the most shot he got , and its really heavy on the other player to hit back , its not as easy as we watch it , and he recently developed a good high speed backhand shot , but when it comes to grass , the most effective shots are flat , and with a brilliant net player like federer , nadal gotta do something about his forehand ,

another thing is that rafa's shot placement is near the middle of the court rather than the base line , it may got advantage on clay as the ball take a high attitude after bouncing , but on grass it won't help him that much

after all every player got his own techniques , hoping rafa would become on grass as good as he is or clay
