  3. My Pastor has preached on this a few times.

Speak the positive truth over the negative lie.  Find the positive truth in the Holy Bible. We say it because we believe it. And we receive the positive Truth.

If we dwell on negativity there is also the law of attraction, & you draw what the negative you are thinking in your life.  And if you speak the negative thought, then you are speaking your fears or having faith in your fears. So? You are hurting your future.

So? Listen to positive preachers, like my Pastor, or Joel Osteen, or Kim Clement or Joyce Meyer, to name a few.  That preach or prophecy about a better future.  Then there is the book 'Secret'.

And the power of life & death is in the tongue.  Speak Life! Not death.

  4. The best way to change a negative thought into a postive one is to think postive about whatever is going on.  Always have a good additued about things and once something bad might come up, think about what you can do to make it a postive situation.  Don't just dread on whatever the negative thing might be!!!

    Good luck!

  5. have in faith in urself and god . be confident always  . if u fail try again but never losse hope  . never think i will try my best always think i will do my best . be postive in everything . never give hope . think as if u have to rule over the world and u r d best . just have faith in urself and most importand pray to god to give u strength . always remember simple living and high thinking is the way of living life successfully .  ALL THE BEST : )

  6. It really depends. But you should take these negative thoughts, see what they are negative towards, and infer as to how the opposite can help improve your life.

    Ex. I can't do this.

In saying that you cannot do something, it puts limitations on things that are within your reach.

Turn it around. Say that you can do it, if, of course, it is possible for man.

  7. choose the opposite and replay it in your mind as often as possible and also try as much as possible not to replay the negative thought. When you allow a thought to linger in your mind or replayed it over and over it turns into a custom and may become reality.

Once a thought comes in your mind for the very first time it is snapped by your mind and stored. A good analogy is a camera; once you take an image with a camera it is stored in the camera in form of a negative. you might take out the negative but you might not see the image with the simple eye but it is there. Once put in a developing laboratory the image is  developed and finally transforms into an image that everyone can see.

Your mind snaps and stores every thought that comes in, you play the role of selecting those you wish to replay and act upon and forget those you are not interested in. At times you do this consciously and most often unconsciously. That is why there are certain thoughts you do not remember and other which you do always remember. You are a sum total of all the thoughts you have replayed in your mind through out you whole life. People who live conscious lives always chose positive thoughts over the negative once that come in. They consciously replay these thoughts and it in turn shape their lives.

People who live negative lives do the opposite, and live in misery(your life reflect what you think.

So to conclude, always consciously make a choice on  which thoughts to keep and those to discard. You can play positive thoughts as many times as possible and they will overshadow the negative ones. If you can start learning to master this you will end up living a great life that many will envy. 8. I know this is not that easy, as i have been through these negative thoughts. Following are the points that can help u

    > Meditation is first step to come out it. You can keep candle infront of you and try to think positive. Initially negative thought will be infulce you. But slowly these start moving out of your mind.

    > Do more work in your office

    > Try to change your environment, go out on week ends or can shift to new city

    > Try to more involved with your friends

  9. By seeing positive lurking even in the negative!

  10. I have always been blessed enough to be in control of my moods, and it is easy to literally decide you don’t want to be miserable and be happy instead.

This realisation dawned upon me whilst driving and feeling down. In conversation with myself I argued that there was nothing extraordinarily adverse happening to warrant abject misery or melancholy. So I deduced that there are other factors at play in determining my mood. Then I decided to control my mood, and sometimes when feeling down or sad, I listen to a sad songs cd and indulge myself, then pull myself out of the dark mood and lighten up.

  11. Lust (Kama)-work for God

    Anger (Krodha)-direct towards the envious

Illusion (Moha)-feel illusioned without realizing God

Greed (Lobha)-to hear more and more about God

Mad (Mada)-be mad after hearing and realizing about God

Out of the six negative things, the five things can be positively turned into Krishna conscious activity while the last, i.e., envy (matsarya) cannot be turned positively into God conscious activity.

  12. It all depends on how "all consuming" your negative thoughts are.  To have positive thoughts all the time is, for me at this point, not possible.  You can train your mind to think more positively though.  As long as no action is required, a negative thought can be placed to the side while you focus on things that make you happy.  I find many times when I do this, the negative thought looses its importantance after a little while and it no longer matters.  If you conciously try to keep your thoughts light and focus on even some small things that give you pleasure, your mind will eventually start doing this automatically and you will not dwell on that which upsets you.

If there is action that you must take, then try to find some way to make it even a little bit pleasureable.  The challege of organizing a task can sometimes take my mind off of the fact that I don't like doing whatever it is I have to do.  Another thing you can do is to find the positive in the situation.  Any small positive will make your mind search for more positives.

Anyway, the other advice you've been given (like meditation, etc.) is all excellent advice for calming your mind.  I believe it all comes down to taking the time and effort to train your mind.  It is so powerful that it can do anything it decides it's going to do!  Hence the cliche "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can not - you are right!"

  13. By praying to God and trying to be positive. By doing Namasmarana also we can get positive thoughts. Besides Satsangs help us a lot in this regard. By participating in Service activities also you can achieve this.

  14. you gotta to take your hurt, pain, and sadness, and turn it into funny laughter, people around you  might think you are crazy, but I assure you,you are not,go sight seeing by yourself a bit only a few times, tradition makes us blind sometimes, like,if we eating dinner every day but we are not talking for a very long time..but every day we  do it anyways try changing it,don't go for dinner and see what happens, the person you are not talking to will wonder won't they..then you could smile cause you have a secret..breaking  traditions sometimes makes it better...try there is no harm in trying..have fun..

  15. by taking positive action

  16. By noticing them, asking yourself how realistic they are (or are they perversion of reality), the substitute a positive one.  This by force will, that is DECIDE to do it and then STICK TO IT!

An excellent book along these lines, that gives you specific techniques and forms and exercises for doing this is this one:

  17. just whistle a happy tune.

  18. Look into "cognitive behavioral therapy" or CBT.  A lot of negative thoughts don't stand up to reason and can be argued against.  Psychologist have found that retraining the brain toward positive thinking actually changes the chemistry of the brain.

Try to get this kind of therapy.  If you can't, really scrutinize your negative thoughts and see how they aren't accurate, or how you could think about the same thing differently.
