  1. It can't because it produces tons of nuclear waste!

  2. Nuclear energy has no carbon emissions and therefore does not contribute to global warming, so when thinking that way, it is much much cleaner.  However, it has it's issues. Number one is safety.  If a terrorist attack were ever to take place at a nuclear facility, the surrounding area would be radioactive for quite some time.  Further, it wouldn't have to be terror.  An engineering problem or a structural failure could also cause a 'meltdown' and spread toxic radioactivity.  Secondly, while there are no carbon emissions, nuclear energy produces a large amount of nuclear material that is unsafe for thousands of years.  It would need to be stored somewhere where it can remain for thousands of years undisturbed.  If it were stored poorly, radiation could seep into our drinking water (not good), or air (also not good).  Finally, if it's stored somewhere deep below the earth, we better be pretty certain that there will be no earthquake activity in that area for thousands of years (not sure how that would ever be done).

  3. I'M NO EXPERT BUT TO PUT IT SIMPLY I BELIEVE THEY USE URANIUM TO SPLIT ADAMS SO FAST AND SO MANY TIMES IT CREATES HEAT WHICH BOILS WATER TO CREATE STEAM TO TURN GENERATORS TO MAKE ELECTRICITY HOWEVER THE SPENT FUEL RODS (URANIUM) IS SMALL BUT HIGHLY RADIOACTIVE FOR AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME HUNDREDS OF YEARS SO ITS CLEANER THEN COAL OR GAS BUT NO GOOD ANSWER AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH IT SO FOR NOW I BELIEVE THEY STORE IT. AGAIN IM NO EXPERT

  4. Provides a source of electrical power that has no air polluting emissions. It is the only alternate source we have available today that is proved and can supply the massive amount of reliable 24/7 power we need at a reasonable cost.

Solar and wind will help and are also important, but are not 24/7 reliable (sun does not always shine and wind does not always blow). These sources are also much more expensive.

It is very important because the majority of CO2 is from power, not cars. Cars are only about 10%

  5. Energy cleaner compared with others, the problem are the toxic wastes generated by it.
