  1. I agree with the previous guy about their usual eating habits.  Getting babies to eat can be difficult, although same can be said for most snakes.  You first need to try different things.  I feed all my baby bloods in small shoe box sized plastic containers (you can get these at target for $1 or $2).  I place 2 sheets of newspaper down as bedding.  This is crucial because little pieces of bark or aspen or another type of naturalistic cage bedding could be accidentally ingested with the rodent.  Usually to get them to start eating, I try a live mouse that is an appropriate size.  Live mice are much more active and move around more than live rats of the same size.  The baby bloods love the movement.  They also like eating when it's dark as that's when they are most active, so place the little shoe box in a dark area.  Check on the snake in a hour or two.  If the rodent is still there, try again later.  They will eventually get hungry enough.

  2. They normally have excellent appetites, in my experiences, but babies can be a little shy at first. If you just got it, it may take some time to get used to its new surroundings. When I first got my pair, they were real shy and would hide. I had to set a frozen/thawed baby rat in there next to them and they would eat it after I left. They wouldn't take it from the tongs. Eventually, they overcame their shyness and never refuse a meal. They're a little harder than other snakes, as far as requirements go. Higher humidity and accurate temperatures, as well as a bowl big enough for them to soak in. Also, either a humidity box (a container with with moist spaghnm moss or something similar) or a good substrate. I used cypress mulch and they would bury themselves in it and I would mist it to keep the humidity up.
