I understand your situation as you feel hurt and frustrated when your boss constantly discourages you.

First, try to understand your boss: is he saying the right thing? Say for example, your boss says, "You are so dumb. You don't know even grammar and punctuation in a sentence." The fact is that you made just a small mistake in a sentence construction. It is the opinion of your boss that you are dumb. Separate facts from his opinion; and just believe in facts - not in his opinions.

Second, try to improve your own work. Don't give him any chance to spot out faults in your work.

Third, there are some bosses, who just discourage others. They seem to have super ego. They want their subordinates to be inferior to them, so that their authority is maintained. There is a genuine defect in their genetic program. You can't do anything about them. All you can do is to change your boss - either by shifting to another department or getting another job.

Having said all this, I would request: please keep faith in yourself. Don't lose your self-confidence due to your boss. Speak up for yourself.
