You can't go directly by bus from Hagerstown to Alexandria by bus.  You would need to change in Washington, DC.

Once you are in DC, you have several choices.  The best is probably to take the Washington, DC Metro (subway) to Alexandria.  But there are also numerous MetroBus lines to Alexandria.  I can't give you exact directions without knowing where in Alexandria you are going, but you can get routes and other info here:
