  1. It depends on what type of eMail.

Is it Web Based?  Business Based?  Outlook/Outlook Express Based at home thru your ISP?

Web Based would be the most difficult.  You would have to contact the provider of the eMail to explain your case.  They may give you the logs.

Your ISP and / or your business accounts would be more amendable to telling you more information.

Key questions that will be brought up... Is your password as secure as possible (as in complex with upper, lower, number characters)?  Who/How/Why do you think this person is doing this?  When was the last time you changed your password?  Did you give your password to this individual at any time?

If you feel like they know your password, CHANGE IT!  Make sure its not a word in the dictionary (a pass phrase).

  2. Do you think it's someone in your house? Or On your computer at least? If so, set up a keystorke logger and a webcam.

  3. Email Is Hosted By Who?

    Edit:

Unless your email is encrypted you should think of it as a postcard. anyone who handles it can read it.

If you use a service like Hotmail on a secure connection this does not mean that your email is encrypted.

use a strong password to make it harder to guess or brute force, i like to use registration numbers of cars i used to own. but all email connections that are not using ssl are sent in plain text so if someone is able to sniff your connection ( ie, in Starbucks wifi hotspot etc). then they can get your password easy.

  4. here is a link to a PCWorld article about how to set up a hacker alarm on a web based email account

If it is happening I don't know how you could find out who it is but you could at least satisfy your suspicions
