  1. Horatio said : "Carpe Diem"...

  2. Read the news. Especially about Thailand, Darfur, the Middle East, etc...

  3. Pay out your maxed out credit card.

  4. It's difficult for me to tell you the right way to do so because to each is own. You can always take the extreme route and visit a third or fourth world nation to truly see how fortunate you are. At times merely giving back to your community through volunteering can start you out with that. You may even consider enlightening yourself through learning something new or engaging in a risky (not not life-threatening) activity like hiking through the woods or surfing.

  5. visit Rowanda or Conga in Africa.

  6. I don't know about you but I appreciate life better because I have lived without for a long time. I've also been abused and other stuff and I live a fairly normal life now so I appreciate much more than my siblings who have items readily available for them.

    Everyone is different however.

Some have a near death experience and still don't give a dam (think thugs and drug addicts and such)

Some have everything they ever wanted and still manage to be modest and thankful.

For some it's in their genes to be generous...and ungrateful.

  7. You can learn to appreciate your life by setting alone for some time each day and thinking about all of the good things in your life.  Things like the fact that you have food, clothing, shelter, friends, a vehicle (to get you to work), birds singing, your pet, your family who loves you, a job,  the list is really endless.  Once you develop an attitude of gratitude you will gain a real, deep, lasting appreciation for your life.

All too often we focus our thinking on all the things in life that go wrong.  When we do that it takes our focus off of all of the beauty, love, and grace within our lives.  We can't really appreciate our life if we're always focused on the negative.

  8. A near death experience always does the trick.

  9. try towalk in someone elses shoes.

  10. -near death experience

    -loosing a loved one

    -living in a third-world country
