It is said that there is going to be, if not already, a pilot shortage throughout the world in the coming years. Does anyone know how to measure that and get a quantitative estimation ?

  1. There has been a pilot shortage since the 1980's according to the manufacturers. If you are looking to be a pilot and don't get hired is there really a pilot shortage?

  2. Lets keep any sort of pilot shortage on the down low... after all, if people knew flying was a great job, there would be higher competition for the rest of us!

  3. You have been misinformed.  There will be an EXCESS of qualified pilots, rather than a shortage.  The exact severity of the shortage cannot be predicted because too many factors that cannot be predicted will impinge on this matter.

But it's going to be a rough time for people who want to fly for a living.

    Sorry
