How can one safely travel in RV with infant? Are there any special gear I can purchase to make easier & safe?

  1. Actually, car-seats can't be installed in motor-homes. The reason is that most aren't usually attached to anything more secure than wood.

    Of course, if the seats are side or rear facing, your car seat's manual will forbid using them.

    You may be able to contact the manufacturer of the motor-home to find out if some of the seats are attached to the frame of the motor-home as cars are, but usually the front seats are the only "safe" ones.

    So it just might come down to putting the child in the front seat but remember about the airbag........


  2. Carseats can not be installed in motorhomes.  The only seats that are forward facing (carseats and boosters can ONLY be used on forward facing vehicle seats) are the drivers seat and passenger seats where there are airbags.

    Also, as the previous poster said the seatbelts usually aren't reinforced like in a vehicle.
