  1. No.. it cannot be solved. Unfortunately people are not so intelligent to understand the reasoning behind the decision.

There are quite a few rivers in Karnataka that offer water to the people of that state. Some of them are major in nature like Krishna, Tungabhadra, cauvery, Pennar. But Tamilnadu doesn't have the water resources like Karnataka. Water resources are national resources than belonging to states. Country as a whole has to share the water based on the needs and availability.

With that background, because Tamilnadu has fewer water resources, it is perfectly justified for Tamilnadu to get more water from Cauvery than Karnataka. Karnataka has the advantage of finding ways to make use of other major rivers.

So, politicians with their selfish motives will try to make a mess out of it and unfortunately we people become the victims in the after math.

  2. i believe people should let the river take its natural course.. coz rivers are not the personal property of any state of govt. They should let the river flow freely and use the water that comes in their territory. if there is a major flood, would the state still fight for the water to be in their territory? i dont think so.. water is a natural resource use it wisely & peacefully..

it sound so silly fighting over a rivers water... who's gonna explain this to the pople anyways..
