  1. power is always the top wires, cable tv is in the middle and phone is always the lowest on the pole.

  2. there is no reason for you to tamper with the lines on the pole...

when a pole shares utilities the electric cables are the highest...

    cable is the center...

    telephone is the lowest...

the electric wires can be identified by the fact that they are usually 3 separate wires spaced out from each other and connected to the pole with ceramic rollers...

the cable wiring can be identified by the TAP where the sub drops connect to...

the telephone wiring can be identified by the splice cases (old telephone wiring can be identified by the lead outer coating)

sometimes the utilities do not share a pole - sometimes one or more utility is underground and only 1 or 2 utility is on a pole, other times one utility may be feed from a pole on the street side, and the other utilities may be fed from a pole in the back yards...

  3. Grab hold of them. No just joking. Electric lines are always the top lines, no exceptions.
