If you don't want to hire a live band, you can hire a DJ. He or she will play whatever music you like. They  usually bring their own sound system, music, and sometimes extras (like disco balls). If you don't want to spend the money on a DJ, you can simply play dance songs on a good stereo. However, you likely won't have the same results.

im not sure if i really understand your question.  are you asking how do people learn to dance or...never mind.  i see.

depends on how large the party is.  if it is a small party you can rent a pair of nice speakers and a steroe.  if its a large party you may want to get a nice dj or band to play.
