You always hear them say" God always plays a role in our lives He saves us, keeps us safe and intervenes in glorious way"

With that said. Why Does God Stop this Hurricane NOW?

Why? Well Because innocent people will die from flood waters and the strong winds. It will raise gas prices that could affect millions of people. It can also hurt our economy.

I guess this is why there are so many Atheists out there.

  1. God is intervening in my life right now.  God is intervening in your life right now.  How do you know He is not intervening in your life through this very circumstance?  Are you going to try to figure out the mind of God and tell me that He is not working, just because something is happening that you don't like?  And, as far as your friend at work goes, he/she may be right.  God might be punishing someone for sinning against Him.  We don't know.  All I do know is that God "works all things together for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose."  Just because we see something that we wish we could do to help, doesn't mean that we know what really is best.  God knows.  And, just so you know, God COULD stop it if He thought it was best.  He stopped bad storms a couple of times for His disciples, He protected them.  But, He may have different plans for the southern coast of the U.S.  God will judge evil.  That judgment may come through another hurricane in New Orleans, or it may not come until the final judgment when God casts all those who do not believe in His Son Jesus Christ into a burning h**l for the rest of eternity.  God may be sending you and me a message to repent and believe in Him before we are destroyed--in one of the two judgments.  These things like gas prices, flood waters and the economy are so irrelevant in the scope of eternity.  God does care about us.  He wants us to repent.

  2. HYPOCRITES.

    :<

  3. Xians are wrong as usual. We the people can affect the hurricane. Thoughts are energy. Together with concentrated effort, we can make a difference. The last one I slowed caused me to have a seizure because I wasn't grounded sufficiently. Yes, we humans have unbelievable abilities that we have been made to forget. We think of ourselves as victims instead. That is so wrong. Human kind together can make a difference. Who is willing to try? Scoffers can keep their sarcasm to themselves. I know what works.

  4. I believe God rides on the wings of the Winds; He knows every Person,Should this be the way His People go ,He will take care to Welcome them Home:

    To those that love to Party,If indeed the Hurricane Hits New Orleans,Just maybe God does not want that Town rebuilt;Why build Your House in a low place ? When you walk outside and look up to see the water going by? Sand is not a 'Good' foundation;

  5. 1. You are attempting to apply human logic to the Divine Creator. How could a mere mortal human have ANY idea why He does things? As I'm sure you know (wink, wink) the Bible quotes the Lord as telling us that there are things we are not meant to know or understand.

    2. One Christian tells you something, and you are compelled to condemn all Christianity?  That's the clincher.

  6. When Jesus was walking on the earth the wind and waves did obey Him.

    Mark 4:39

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

    Jesus also said:

    Matthew 5:45

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

  7. well that freaken so called christian doesnt know what he's talking about.

  8. I anticipate (and JD has not disappointed me with) a response that goes somewhat along these lines:

"After the fall because of Adam's sin, mankind caused nature to fall out of peaceful balance and made all this bad stuff happen, like lions eating other animals instead of plants and hurricanes and floods and stampedes and tornadoes and all the other bad stuff that ever happens and happened on Earth, ever."

I don't think I need to point out the flaws in this.

  9. God has placed us on this earth with Free Agency. We can pretty much do whatever we want to. Now our freedoms can be taken away legal and our life can be taken away through bad choices, but there is also weather and others choices that can take us out of the game of life. Yes, God flooded the earth when the world became a Godless world and promised with a rainbow he would never flood the world again, but never said anything about tornadoes, fire, earthquakes, etc. I heard what you are saying, but you have to look at the bigger picture. This life is a test. If we follow God, who cares how we die. We will all die. The real challenge is whether your life is in harmony with God and Jesus Christ when you go. It is always unexpected.

  10. I guess God decided Katrina didn't punish LA enough for its "wicked" actions and sent along her brother, Gustav.

  11. I doubt that your friend could find a single Scripture to support the notion that Jesus sends hurricanes to punish anything.

Weather is a closed system; self-perpetuating.

If Jesus wanted to bother with that, why did it rain when He was on a boat?

Don't blame God for this hurricane.  Instead, wait for news of a bazillion little miracles where God has quietly made things better.

"God works all things together for good."

  12. there was a perfect world, but when man fell into sin, not everything will be the same. its not a judgment on mankind (which will come soon enough), but the result of our first and continual disobedience. sometimes these things are to test us to see how deep our foundation in God is(which must not be alot due to this question being asked).

  13. A better question is: Why do people claim to be intelligent yet demand that it is their right to live in a city that is below water level? Or why live in an area where ya get flooded out on a regular basis?

And why is it that we, the US taxpayers, have to keep paying the same people over and over for the same stupidity?

WWJD?? Move to higher ground and stay there.

Living in a hurricane zone is optional, ya know.

  14. God never controls the weather, or anything else here.

    agnostic/deist

  15. Why don't you go and volunteer to help those people in need because of Gustav?

Atheists never want to lift a finger to help anyone but themselves... guess that's why there are so many Christians out there these days.

  16. In the latter days the sea and the waves will roar, earthquakes will be many, the power of the heavens will be shaken and there will be distress of nations on the earth.  Men's hearts will fail them for fear of what is coming upon the earth.

Because of sin, and sin is increasing daily, this world is cursed.  God tells us plainly "that a curse without a cause does not come."  Proverbs 26:2

If we will repent and turn from our wicked ways God will always intervene.  Curses don't come without sins.

There are six potential hurricanes out in the Gulf and Atlantic at this very moment.  The sea and the waves are roaring.

If you want swift destruction, here is a good way to get swift destruction:  "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily (secretly)

shall bring in damnable heresies, (destructive heresies) even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves SWIFT DESTRUCTION.  And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of." 2 Peter 2:1,2

If you want to know the truth read 2 Peter chapter 2.  Read the whole chapter.

The Judgment of God begins in the House of God and the priests are being judged, the homosexual pastors are being judged, the fornicating pastors are being judged.  God is bringing the evil to light and not only in the House of God but wherever evil hides.

God spared not the angels that sinned, but chained them in darkness.

God spared not the old world, but saved Noah and family.

God spared not Sodom and Gomorrah but turned them to ashes.

God made 3 great examples unto those that should live ungodly.

  17. 'cause god is fake :D

  18. As someone who had to evacuate for Katrina and Gustav, I don't blame God for these goings on. I think that God tests our strength everyday, and I think he does intervene. In school, our teachers gave us test, like God does. Most of our teachers wanted us to learn the material, hence why they gave us the tests, and to help us they gave us the right materials to study, or a leg up. God helps us in the same ways. That's how he intervenes.

At least that how I see it.

Oh, and your Christian friend is an idiot.

  19. Neither God nor Jesus sends these storms.  When the earth was created, the natural forces were created.  When things come together in certain ways, and people are in the way of disturbances, they should not be there.  God does not direct these things to happen.  It is nature.

As far as hurricanes are concerned, normally no one forces anyone to live where they often come onto shore.  People, knowing where they are, stay there at their own detriment.

  20. He knows more than all of us and more are repenting each day. WE must learn alot of lessons before He returns. Tribulation isnt even here yet. IT WILL get worse BEFore it gets better...instead of boohooing ppl should be repenting..
