  1. purifying water for human usage/consumption is a long and involved process that takes time and money.

  2. All about water, see link

  3. water is not infinite.. there is a finite amount of water in the world, and only a small part of it is naturally fresh water... salt water *can* be turned into fresh, with some work, but for the most part, there's only a certain amount of fresh water in the world..

  4. This mainly refers to treated drinking / potable water which has passed through a treatment works requiring energy, chemicals etc.

If there is low rainfall then there is a finite amount of water in that area. Death Valley and the Sahara desert are two examples.

  5. wtaer is not infinite. it is recycled. but water is recycled slowly so as the population grows the amount of water needed daily increases and amount given back does not cancel it out. so when you leave the water running, that water wont be seen for a while, thus the water is wasted.

Water also costs money so as you leave water running, money goes down and the amount you can get goes down.

also if water is dumped to see from creeks and rivers, it will have to go through desalinisation treatment before it is usable for drinking.

  6. Who says it's infinite?

    Do we drink sea water....no.

So we don't need to waste the water we can use.

  7. Water is contaminated when it goes down the drain.

Would you want to drink water that had people's poo and pee in it?

    Thats how we waste it.

  8. Ever got lost without any water in the middle of nowhere?

  9. because people have to pay for water....money wasted

because while water is infinite it is not evenly spread just like every other resource

and because when it is wasted said water is no longer in your possession
