ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

So "God" is making the USA the sole country that can exact the will of God and that sending humans to kill other humans is what God wants? Did "God" also whisper into Palin's ear to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline? Does God honestly CARE about a $30 billion natural gas pipeline? Comments like this from people who are running for the highest office in the land worry me.

  1. Rational ones won't vote for Republicans but we may not be the majority here. Seems to be allot of irrational bible thumpers getting all geeked up for McCain and his pandering manuever.

  2. They have two choices

    1. To vote against their conscious because they can't stand the other guy more.

    2. To vote against their conscious and follow the crowd. lol

  3. People like you worry me!!!!!!

Sarah Palin is a great American, mother, wife and a perfect VP for this country!!!!!!! She is a great role model and I am VERY impressed with her.

    What a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. America is a land of Christians that was founded for Christianity. Why wouldn't we want our leaders to practice religious beliefs while in office? I am glad she is not letting liberal people suppress her beliefs. She has earned my respect and the rest of the world's as well.

  5. Do you really want to ride the "comments train"?!?

How about all of Obama's inexcusable quotes belittling people he considers less than himself?

How about him being ashamed of his countrymen for not speaking French?

The list goes on, my friend.  You don't want to go there.

  6. umm...to be honest I have nothing more to add to that. I just wanted to tell you that i agree with you 100%!

  7. But people who prefer to set repeat child moletors free as in Vermont..or create "sanctuary" cities for illegals who murder families -Sanfransisco..or condoning condoms being passed out in high schools..or using abortion as a means of birth control..is fine????????????????????????????????????...

I'll take my chances with a pipeline that would create jobs and help solve the energy problem.

  8. I have read somewhere that she lead a prayer hoping it was a mission sent from God. Which is vastly different from declaring it is from God.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

  9. Because Republicans are:

    Ignorant

They dont want a black president

    They are very relgious

They want to save their oil reserves in the middle east

  10. I didn't realize that "rational" people were so incapable of thinking non-literally....no wonder you guys can't come to grips with "a land of milk and honey".....you probably figure it'll be too sticky...

  11. I dont think killing innocent civilians is an act of God. In her speech she was very childish i thought. She was pratically running obama down on his flaws rather than focusing on what she could do to help the americans which i think some of you are forgetting. She is all talk. She calls herself a christian yet her daughter is out there doing it whenever wherever without using protection which obviously her mother never taught her because she doesnt believe in s*x education.

Its one thing to say something then do another. All i see is her turning the campaign into trash rather than focusing on on trying to make the country a better place.

  12. With pride, that's how!

  13. Religion and politics don't mix period.  Now we have to endure Palin's religious beliefs and I bet the Rev. Wright will crop up too.

  14. I would be more worried about being associated with people that would trash on a child!

  15. I can. And shut up about God allready..Is that the best you libs have??

  16. It sickens me when Christians assume that their will is God's will.  Sorry, I don't have an answer for you.  Maybe McCain will outline his plan tonight and give people a reason to vote for him.

  17. Rational Americans aren't Christian, so most rational Americans won't vote Republican.

P.S.  Oh and most rational Americans wont vote Democrat either (Liberalism isn't rational period)

  18. Her pastor is the "Jews for Jesus' leader, who actively tries to get Jews in the Christian camp. Her pastor, Brickner, described terrorist attacks on Israelis as God's "judgment of unbelief" of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity.

"Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. It's very real. When [Brickner's son] was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment — you can't miss it."
