  1. This is called a mix. Even Windows Movie Maker will do this.

The best way to do this is to shoot your video(s) in front of a green(or blue) screen, I use green fabric purchased at walmart.  The method you are looking for is called chroma-key.  The free software called Wax at http://www.debugmode.com has this feature built in.  When doing this you would stay away from wearing similar clothing to the color backdrop you use.  You then would put the Chroma-key filter on the video, select the color to key out, shift the variance levels then select your second video and insert into the time line.  This will make your background transparent.  Hope this helps you get started.

  4. its called editing. this is where you combine footage from various camera (or shots) and place them in an editing 'timeline'.

    this can also be done live via 'vision switching'. this is where a director sees many screens and chooses shots and directs cameras to make specific choices.
