  1. In a nutshell when you recycle you reduce the amount of trash in landfills and you give things a second life (and hopefully more). By recycling we redirect things.

When certain things land in a landfill they take many years to break down....for instance plastic can take aprox 500 years.

If there is less trash in the environment-there is not only a better quality of land and air--there is more room for things like parks!

  2. Yes it will help environment because when we recycle the products, it is understood that we are reducing load on consuming natural resources. Because end of the day whatever the product here in the world is made it is made up of any natural product. There is nothing in the world coming out of this world.

  3. in the instance of paper - the previous answer  is excellent - but as important as recycle (taking something - cycling it through many processes to make it like new again) reUSE needs to become a household word.  Re-use is taking one person's unwanted items, and getting it into the hands of someone else who can use it.  Habitat for Humanity has a store called reStore where they do this with building materials.

  4. it helps reduce damage to the enviroment because take paper recycling for istant we all no paper comes from trees so if we dont recycle paper more trees after be cut down thereor more carbon dioxide in the air ( because less trees/plants to take it in) and carbon dioxde is one of the main causes of global warming so recycling is just so we can reuse resorces

  5. Here's a great site that will help:

  6. GOD KNOWS I WILL TELL U IF I MEET HIM SOON HA HA SORRY ABOUT THAT JUST JOKING YES IT HELPS PLASTIC CAN'T BE BROKEN DOWN BY NATURE AND PAPER RECYCLES SAVES WATER RECYCLING OIL INTO BIO DIESEL AND SO ON SAVES ENERGY NOW U DO THE MATHS SE YA!

  7. it helps in the re-utilization of non-biodegradable materials.

  8. Recycling conserves natural resources, conserves energy, and reduces pollution.

    Conserve natural resources

Recycling uses previously processed materials lessening the demand for virgin materials.  Some telling examples include:

    • “When one ton of steel is recycled, 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone are conserved.

    • “Every ton of newsprint or mixed paper recycled is the equivalent of 12 trees.

    • “Every ton of office paper recycled is the equivalent of 24 trees "

    Conserve energy

Recycling conserves energy in the both collection of recycled materials over virgin materials that sometimes must be mined and hauled from other countries and reprocessing the materials.  The National Recycling Coalition (“Environmental Benefits of Recycling”) provides the following energy savings comparison between using recycled materials over virgin materials.

    Aluminum 95%

    Glass 40%

    Newspaper 40%

    Plastic 40%

    Steel 60%

“Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for four hours.”  Also unlike paper and plastic, aluminum and glass can be recycled an infinite number of times.

    Reduce Pollution

Recycled materials in most cases require less production than virgin materials and thus produce less waste.  For example, a ton of recycled papers “conserves about 7,000 gallons of water… 60 lb of air pollutants (“Recycling Paper & Glass”).  Ã¢Â€ÂœRecycling one kilogram of aluminum can save up to 8 kilograms of bauxite, four kilograms of chemical products and 14-kilowatt hours of electricity".
