  1. there's a straw mat available which you can hang on the doors and windows after soaking them in water. this is the best way to keep your room. this is exactly what happens in a cooler.

  2. Leave all the doors and windows open when you are home.

  3. CLOSE U'R ALL OPENINGS. ADD NEW CEILING BELOW THE OLD ONE.IT CAN BE TEMPORARY

  4. Well we have dark shades that block out the sun, if you cover the windows up that will help a lot. A blanket or anything would help.

  5. but a bowl of water so it can evaporate into the atmospher and cool down the place

i know that because i live in a very hot country

  6. Passive solar:

1.) Shade the windows to prevent direct sun light from entering. This is best done by an external awning mounted above the window.

2.) open windows early in the morning to allow cool morning air in. Close them before the heat of the day and open again in evening.

3.) ventilate the attic with a ridge vent system. This prevents a large build up of hot air in the attic.   High attic temperatures can cause heat to radiate down into the living space.

4.) try to set up a chimney effect when ventilating the house.   Warm air rises and so if upper windows are opened it provides a means to allo that hot air to leav easily. If the warm air can leave cool air from lower windows can enter to replace the air that is leaving.

For example open a sky light to vent heat and open a north side window.

5.) Try a swamp cooler.    In hot dry climates, evaporation of water can cool quite effectively.    The down side is that the added humidity can cause some discomfort if the humidity is  allowed to become excessive.  Also swamp coolers become less effective if the humidityis already high.

6.) Closing Light colored or reflective drapes will prevent direct sun light from entering the home.  Direct sun light striking interior objects gets converted to heat..   Anything you can do to keep direct sun light from entering will minimize  solar heating.  You can apply tinted window film  on the glass as well which will limit light transmission.

7.)  Reduce or relocate heat generating activities.  If your going to make a big pot of pasta, consider boiling the water outside on the grill instead of in the kitchen. You will avoid adding all of the that heat and humidity to the  living space.    Some items that we take for granted also generate considerable heat, TV sets , computers are just two items that can run using over several hundered watts of electricity.    Consider moving the TV to another location like a screened porch. Or better yet keep it turned off and enjoy the outside
