How can seat belts effect human beings when they drive?

i need to know how seat belts effect you when you drive =D

They hinder you from reaching for another beer in the backseat.  Really?  They affect you by protecting you in an accident.  they keep your body from excessive movement in an accident.

the seatbelt is useful in an accident but it may also be bad for you... if you have a muscular rupture in the abdomen's muscular layer, wearing a seatbelt may prevent the rupture from healing....this is why I have a doctor's paper that states that I am not allowed to wear a seatbelt until I fully recover.....yupeeeeee!!! no seatbelt for me!

hmmm, well it may not be very important to some people but it does PREVENT YOU FROM FLYIING INTO THE WINDSHIELD.

If you are in an accident they can cause internal damage to your body from the force as well.
