Science is a tool, it isn't an ideology. With that said, it can better allow us thru our ideologies to met the needs of our societies by better understanding them thru the tools of science. In other words, the same way understanding biology allowed us to understand virus and bacteria enough to keep ourselves clean for the purpose of living. It's all actually an algebra formula.......
