How can sociology help me to become a better person?

it can help you distance yourself from your emotions and other people

you can stand back, be logical, rational and consider things , before you simply react,

ie out of anger to something anger provoking,

and you can learn some self discipline

you learn to look ,listen and learn before simply judging

you accept you dont know it all, and can be wrong, as the distance from emotions and acting out or judging first also distances you from so much pride

and as said

you get to learn people, society the ins and outs whys whens where etc

but

its not always the best life to see yourself and others as a whole instead of an individual

many people cant deal or accept that they are part of society , a big 'hive mind' a lot of the time

and would always prefer to see themselves and an individual

but

if thats the case, then they are never going to be very good at nor find a use in learning sociology in teh first place

The relationship of man with the society is better known to sociologists.  He is essentially a social scientist who can help peoplesolve their problems. Social science that he has mastered will enable him to help individuals with personal grievances. It doesn't make you a better person, you decide that.  Sociology makes you better understand the world.  You learn why the world acts the way it does.  Sociology is the study of society.  You can make good judgements about issues and understand both sides of it.

You understand people better and what they truuly feeelll... and of course you can understand why other people do what they do.

Sociology doesn't make you a better person, the knowledge of how humans minds work makes you better at understanding how people  feel. Just because you know how someone feels doesn't nessecarily mean you care though.
