Right on.  I find this whole Kobe-Jordan debate quite silly for a few reasons.

1)  Kobe isn't making comparisons of himself to Michael Jordan but you can understand why people compare the two.

2)  It's pointless to do comparisons until Kobe's career is done.  Obviously at this point with only one MVP and 3 titles- Jordan wins hands down- but if Kobe accomplishes a lot more and leads the Lakers to some titles between now and retirement- you might have a very interesting argument.

3)  It's just a way for haters- to hate on Kobe.  The haters say see Kobe isn't as good as Jordan- so he sucks.  i mean how many NBA players could you say are not as good as Jordan- that doesn't mean they suck.

This whole "The Next" has been going on since the dark ages and there has never been a next anyone. It goes across all sports, and the answer stays the same.

Different players do different things for different eras of the game. Wilt Chamberlain changed the game. Bill Russell changed the game. Kareem And Magic changed the game. Jordan did so probaly more than anyone because we had never seen the things he could do, done before especially in a winning evironment.

Any player good enough to be "the next" of anyone above deserves to be the first of themselves such as Kobe and Lebron, Its not their fault the game can't change like is used to.
